      Juventus vs Bayer Leverkusen Predictions

There’s a big doubleheader for Italian sides on Tuesday night, the second part of which sees Bayer Leverkusen head to Turin to meet Juventus. There’s little secret about the fact that winning this competition is now paramount for Juve. However, the hosts do have major issues which could peg them back in the latter stages. Before that, they are expected to keep up their good form with a win over the Bundesliga side.

Juve have found themselves with a domestic challenger this term, as Inter Milan’s perfect start has left Juve two points shy of first place. The looming Derby d’Italia with Inter at the weekend could be a distraction here, so it’s up to Maurizio Sarri to keep his men on point in this one. The new Juve boss will be expecting his side to keep up their strong recent form, while the bookies have made them heavy favourites to win this clash.

Bayer aren’t in a great position in this group, following their 2-1 loss to Lokomotiv Moscow at home in the first game. They won just twice in their last 14 games in this competition. With that form behind them and a tough trip to possible Champions League winners ahead, we don’t hold much hope for Bayer in this group.

Juventus head into this game having scored twice in their last four games. They have been consistent going forward of late, with a 2-0 win over SPAL behind them at the weekend. The hosts have won three matches on the spin, which sends them into this clash on form. While they’re in great form domestically, they also have one of the most reliable scorers in the history of this competition to fire them on up front.

Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 26 goals in 24 appearances against teams from Germany in the UEFA Champions League – no player has more against teams from a specific nation. The forward has three goals in five games for Juve this term, while he has five goals in his last four in the Champions League. We are backing him to find the net in this clash, with Bayer potentially becoming the 35th side Ronaldo has scored against in this competition.

With Ronaldo on form, we expect a strong display for Juve going forward. We are backing the hosts to score over 1.5 goals in this clash, while we are backing the Italian champions to win 2-1 on Tuesday to take control of this group.
