Tip Reasoning

  • Leicester have won each of their last four home games.
  • Three of those wins have been by two or more goals.
  • Norwich have lost their last five games and have failed to score in all of those matches.
  • Leicester have scored four goals in two of their last three at home.

Leicester on a high after Liverpool win

Leicester managed to stun Liverpool with a 1-0 win over the title contenders at the King Power Stadium in midweek and can back that up with another three points when Norwich visit on New Year’s Day.

After a brief revival following the arrival of Dean Smith as boss, Norwich are in freefall and their 3-0 loss at Crystal Palace on Tuesday was their fifth straight defeat – and they have failed to score in all of those games.

The Foxes form has been patchy but they have been solid at home and go into this game seeking a fifth straight win at the King Power Stadium, and they should be able to win fairly comfortably this weekend.

Leicester can triumph with room to spare

Leicester have three defeats inside 90 minutes in their last six games in all competitions but all of those losses have come on the road. At home, Leicester have won their last four and three of those wins have been by two or more goals. Brendan Rodgers’ men became the first side to keep a clean sheet against Liverpool this season in their last outing – despite fielding a makeshift backline – and they should be able to win convincingly against the struggling Canaries.

Norwich haven’t scored for five games and during that period they have conceded 14 goals, with four of those defeats coming by two or more goals. Leicester are heavy favourites to win and to squeeze more value out of backing the hosts a home win with a -1 handicap looks a strong option.

The Foxes have scored nine goals in total in their last three home games, while Norwich conceded on average 2.55 per-game on their travels and as they are struggling to score themselves it seems likely Leicester will win by at least a two-goal margin. As the Foxes have scored four goals twice in their last three at home, a 4-0 win for the hosts is the pick in the correct score market.

Lookman hitting form

Ademola Lookman grabbed what proved to be the winner just three minutes after his second half introduction against Liverpool and should be rewarded with a starting spot against Norwich. The 24-year-old now has two goals in his last two appearances, having also scored in the Boxing Day defeat to Manchester City, and all three of his Premier League goals this season have come in his last five appearances. Norwich are conceding at an alarming rate and Lookman can continue his scoring spree when they visit the King Power Stadium.
