Leicester City to Win

Reason for tip

Both sides have struggled this term, but Leicester have been dealt a tough hand after a difficult start. The Foxes have faced five of the top six, so back them to respond against Nottingham Forest. The hosts won seven of their 10 home games against bottom-half sides last season, while Forest have lost their last four, conceding 14 times.

Leicester City 2-0

Reason for tip

Forest have scored just once on the road this season, which offers an opportunity for them to keep a clean sheet at long last. The visitors tend to be a bit more conservative on their travels, which should help the Leicester defence get organised here.

James Maddison To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Maddison has scored in seven of his last 10 Premier League games and he is Leicester’s biggest attacking threat. Given the issues facing the Forest defence, back him to build on his great start to the season.

Leicester City vs Nottingham Forest Predictions

  • Forest have lost each of their last four Premier League games
  • They’ve conceded 14 goals across those four defeats
  • Leicester have scored 10 times in seven matches this term
  • Forest have scored just once across their first three trips, losing twice

Six-pointer for Leicester?

Monday night’s Premier League clash pits the bottom two against each other, with Leicester out for their first victory of the season. The Foxes find themselves bottom of the table after a nightmare start, raising the possibility of this being a relegation six-pointer.

However, the hosts should take heart from the quality of the opponents they’ve faced so far, which suggests things can’t improve. They’ve lost four from four on the road, but each of those opponents sit inside the top five.

Just one of Leicester’s opening games have been against a current bottom-half side, while Forest have already dropped points against Fulham, Everton and Bournemouth. That offers Brendan Rodgers and co. an opportunity to course correct.

Vital month for Forest

Despite their big summer investment, it’s little shock to see Forest in the bottom three after their opening seven games. Things have gone sour for Steve Cooper’s side of late, as they have lost their last four league games, conceding at least twice in all four matches.

However, the visitors are entering a crucial run of fixtures, with Aston Villa and Wolves to come after this clash with Leicester. That three-game run is massive for Cooper, who finds himself under pressure and among the favourites for the sack.

Forest’s fate could look bleak if they don’t put a run together now when they have a chance. After that they face Brighton, Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea in their final games of the year, which could cut them adrift from the rest of the division.

Attacking talent to see Leicester through

That Forest have such a tough run to come just shows that they’ve struggled in winnable games, having lost 3-2 at home to both Bournemouth and Fulham in their last two games. That should suit the Foxes, who have attacking talent capable of causing them problems.

Leicester’s James Maddison has been good this season despite his team’s struggles. He’s been involved in 11 goals across his last 10 Premier League games, scoring in seven of those matches. Given how the away side have struggled defensively, back Maddison to add to his great run.

Leicester won seven of 10 at home to bottom-half sides last season, while Forest have claimed one point and scored one goal in their first three league trips since promotion. The Foxes have scored 10 times across their first seven and with Forest looking blunt the hosts should have enough to claim a vital win. With the visitors struggling, I’m also backing Leicester for a much-needed clean sheet.
