Netherlands -2

Reason for tip

Netherlands have scored 11 goals in their last three qualifiers while Lithuania have shipped 13 times in their last eight. The Dutch can cover a -2 handicap in Kaunas if they play with the same precision as they produced when beating malta 8-0 earlier this year.

Netherlands 3-0

Reason for tip

Lithuania have failed to score in three of their last four qualifiers while Netherlands have kept two clean sheets in their last three. They would have had another but for Matty Cash’s wonderstrike on Thursday and they have the attacking tools to secure a 3-0 win.

Denzel Dumfries To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Denzel Dumfries has scored in five of his last eight appearances for the Netherlands. He has 10 goals in 63 caps overall and has developed a happy knack of popping up at the back post on corners or Cody Gakpo crosses from the left.

Dutch will be keen to re-establish momentum

The Netherlands should continue their dominant qualifying campaign when they travel to Kaunas to face a fragile Lithuania side on Sunday.

Ronald Koeman’s team remain unbeaten in Group G, although a 1-1 home draw against Poland was not what the coach wanted on Thursday. Off the back of an 8-0 demolition of Malta and a 2-0 win away to Finland in the summer, Oranje would have expected another three points.

The Dutch were given a flying start by Denzel Dumfries’ back-post header after 28 minutes, but fell victim to a Matty Cash wonderstrike with little more than 10 minutes to go. Koeman’s men will be keen to re-establish momentum and bolster their goal difference in Kaunas.

Koeman’s men can run riot in Kaunas

Lithuania, meanwhile, have struggled for form and identity. They’ve avoided defeat in only two of their last eight matches and were thrashed 5-0 by Denmark in June.

The Baltic side have failed to score in four of their last five qualifiers and were beaten 3-1 at home by Serbia in Euro 2024 qualifying. With the Netherlands boasting pace, precision, and depth in attack, this could be another long evening for the hosts.

Back the Netherlands to win with a -2 handicap and a clean 3-0 scoreline. Lithuania have conceded 13 goals in their last eight competitive matches, and Koeman’s side have the firepower to exploit every gap.
