      Liverpool vs Manchester United Predictions

Liverpool’s 3-3 draw against Arsenal in midweek was one of the games of the evening, with Liverpool twice leading and once trailing before a fantastic last minute equaliser from Joe Allen.

This made it five goals in two games for Liverpool, and they now come in to one of the most important matches of the season having won three, drawn two, and lost one of their last six games in all competitions.

They are doing a bit better at Anfield though. They haven’t lost any of their last five games in all competitions, winning three and scoring nine.

This leaves Jurgen Klopp’s side in 9th position in the Premier League, but their 31 point tally is only three fewer than Manchester United. The middle of the pack is a tight race this season.

Manchester United are in 6th position, and they themselves are only two points off Tottenham Hotspur, who occupy that all important 4th position in the Premier League.

Manchester United’s own 3-3 draw with Newcastle in midweek was another one of the best games of the week.

Whilst Liverpool equalised in the 90th minute against Arsenal, Manchester United saw themselves concede a 90th minute equaliser as Paul Dummett cancelled out Wayne Rooney’s sublime 79th minute strike.

This made it four games unbeaten for Louis van Gaal’s side, although their wins against Swansea and Sheffield United were far from convincing. They have managed to score six goals in their last three matches though, a vast improvement on their terrible attacking displays throughout December.

Manchester United have had the better of Liverpool in recent years, winning all of their last four games against their rivals and only losing one of their last six. Interestingly, all of their last five games have ended with three or more goals scored.

These fixtures are always mouthwatering, and I don’t see this as being an exception. Odds of 6/5 for Over 2.5 Goals looks excellent value as well, so I’m going for that and a 2-1 win for Manchester United at 12/1.
