Macclesfield vs Port Vale Predictions
Macclesfield drew 2-2 at Cambridge United last weekend and have now gone eight games in league and cup without a victory, while Saturday’s opponents Port Vale beat Morecambe 3-1 at home to make it four games unbeaten in all competitions.
All of the stats point towards both teams scoring in Saturday’s clash at Moss Rose and we’ve backed these two teams to play out an exciting 2-2 draw.
Both clubs have picked up two wins, one draw, and suffered two defeats in the last five meetings between Macclesfield and Port Vale, and the head to head record between these two clubs is level after twelve games. Both teams scored in three of the last six meetings between these two clubs, and we’re expecting more of the same between the pair this weekend.
The form of both teams heading into Saturday’s match favours Port Vale but Macclesfield have drawn three of their last four league games and their guests have drawn two of their last three in the league, all of which saw both teams score, which is why we’re backing another score draw on Saturday.
The performances of both sides during the last month or so add weight to our prediction of goals being scored at both ends of the pitch this weekend, as both teams scored in four of Macclesfield’s last five and each of Port Vale’s last four matches.
The form of the hosts in their own backyard, as well as their guests’ on the road, back our prediction of a draw between the pair this weekend, as Macclesfield have only lost one of their last three home games and Port Vale have lost one of their last three away games. Just three points separate the pair heading into Saturday’s clash and, with both teams on a -12 goal difference, a win would see Macclesfield move above their guests in the table.
We’re confident that both teams will score on Saturday and have predicted a final scoreline of 2-2. Macclesfield aren’t the form favourites heading into the match but they do have the home advantage and have picked up a lot of draws in recent weeks. Port Vale have only lost one of their l;ast six matches and will be confident of coming away from Moss Rose with at least a share of the spoils.
