Manchester City vs Tottenham Hotspur Predictions
Manchester City suffered a shock defeat at home to Leicester last weekend, with the visitors fully deserving their 3-1 victory.
This ended Manchester City’s seven match unbeaten streak in all competitions, and more importantly saw them slip from being Premier League title favourites to 4th favourites. They now sit in 4th position, a point behind Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur and six adrift of leaders Leicester.
Tottenham Hotspur have slowly accrued their points this season, without fuss building up an impressive tally and, with their win last weekend, suddenly leaping into 2nd place in the table.
They come into this match on the back of a six match winning streak in all competitions, and they have only lost three games in the Premier League all season. Crucially, two of these three defeats came at White Hart Lane. Away from home they have won six and drawn five of their 12 league matches. Only Arsenal and Leicester have more points on the road than them, and they have both played a match more.
Manchester City’s form is still pretty good though. They have won three of their last fix matches in all competitions and only lost once.
Spurs’ recent success has been built around their excellent attack. Harry Kane, Dele Alli, and Christian Eriksen have been in sensational form recently, and I think they’ll be able to break down a faltering Man City defence without too much trouble on Sunday.
Spurs will also take heart from the fact they managed to thrash Manchester City 4-1 at White Hart Lane earlier this season, and knowing they are in the better form of the two sides coming into this match will further boost their confidence.
Odds of 3/4 for a Tottenham Hotspur Win or Draw Double Chance look good value to me, and I’m predicting a 2-1 win for the visitors at 12/1 as well.
