Angers to Compound Metz’s Winless Start

Angers can take the away win and add to Metz’s recent woes when they visit Stade Saint-Symphorien on Sunday.

They are ten places above rock-bottom Metz in the table, with a four-point advantage. The hosts have yet to taste victory this season, while Angers sit eighth having won once, drawn once and lost once.

Metz could not break their losing run last time out, losing 3-2 to Paris two weeks ago in their last Ligue 1 game. Metz’s Sadibou Sane scored the opening goal in the 22nd minute, with Boubacar Traore also notching, but Paris created enough chances to have won by a wider margin.

The hosts’ poor form is evident from the fact that Metz have lost all three of their Ligue 1 games this season.

The hosts look frail defensively. Metz have yet to keep a clean sheet after three Ligue 1 games.

With Ligue 1 averaging three goals a game this season, and Angers having beaten Metz by a single goal in two of the last three clashes between these sides, a 2-1 win for Angers looks like a decent correct-score bet.
