Middlesbrough vs Bournemouth Predictions
Middlesbrough managed to thwart the in form Arsenal last weekend to claim a goalless draw at the Emirates, but despite this impressive display, they remain without a win since August.
Since that 2-1 win over North East rivals Sunderland they have lost five and drawn three in all competitions, leaving them in 17th position in the Premier League with just goal difference separating them from the drop zone.
It’s even worse for them at the Riverside, where they have lost three on the bounce and haven’t won since April. In the Premier League they have scored just three goals in their four outings, and that includes matches against Stoke, Crystal Palace, and Watford. None of their players have more than one goal to their name at home this season, and Alvaro Negredo looks completely devoid of enthusiasm for his new club.
Bournemouth started the season in poor fashion as they lost their opening two Premier League games, but a 2-1 win over Morecambe in the League Cup set them on their way. They have since been eliminated from that competition, but their goalless draw at home to Spurs last weekend made it four games unbeaten in the Premier League.
This includes a 6-1 hammering of the out of form Hull a couple of weekends ago and an impressive 1-0 win over Everton. Away from home they have drawn two and lost two of their league matches though, with Joshua King and Callum Wilson being the only scorers. Wilson remains one of their major threats going forward, but King has looked excellent this term. He has scored in two of his last three away matches and will be looking to exploit a Middlesbrough defence who struggle to deal with skillful players and against long shots. Backing King to get a goal at 11/4 looks excellent value.
I fancy Bournemouth for this one. They are in very good form at the moment and are facing a Middlesbrough side who have lost three home games on the bounce. Odds of 2.150 for a Bournemouth 0.0 Asian Handicap Win looks excellent value, so I’m backing that along with a 2-1 correct score prediction at 11/1.
