Millwall to Win and Over 1.5 Match Goals
Reasoning
Millwall vs Rotherham Predictions
- Millwall have won four of their last seven home Championship matches.
- Rotherham have lost four of their last six away league games.
- Zian Flemming has bagged five goals in his last five appearances for the Lions.
Pencil in Flemming as an anytime scorer
Millwall are fancied to get back to winning ways when relegation-threatened Rotherham arrive in South East London on New Year’s Day.
The Lions are always a tough outfit to beat on their own turf and have now won four and drawn three of their last seven Championship games at The Den. Gary Rowett’s side hit the crossbar in a 0-0 home draw with Bristol City on Thursday that checks their promotion momentum, but they will be keyed up to demolish the Millers this weekend.
Zian Flemming scored a stunning equaliser at New York Stadium back in October to earn a 1-1 draw, although he was inches away from winning it with a long-range free-kick which rattled the crossbar. The Dutchman remains in sparkling form and, with five goals in his last five Millwall appearances, should be backed in the anytime goalscorer market.
Lions don’t do 1-0 wins
The main bet recommendation has to be a home win, as Rotherham have lost four of their last six road games and the last two without scoring. But it’s probably worth upping the odds slightly from Millwall’s odds-on quote by taking them to win with at least two goals in the game.
The Lions have not been doing 1-0s this season and are sure to push on in search of a second when they inevitably get on the scoresheet against the side with the fourth-worst defensive record in the division.
A 2-0 Millwall win is the verdict here as the Lions have scored exactly two goals in five of their 12 home league games this term while keeping clean sheets in four of the last six.
