Mirandes vs Sevilla Predictions
The Primera Division side have a solid 2-0 advantage from last week’s 1st leg. Steven N’Zonzi gave Sevilla the lead but they had to wait until stoppage time for a 2nd and Vitolo’s late strike was a real hammer blow to the hopes of Mirandes, who have already knocked out two sides from the top flight in this year’s Copa Del Rey.
They were 3-0 winners at Deportivo La Coruna in the 2nd leg of the last round and would need something equally miraculous to progress here. They are 9th in the Segunda Division but did win 2-1 at Real Zaragoza at the weekend, once again demonstrating their taste for playing against stronger sides.
Sevilla have hit some form at last and picked up an excellent point at the Vicente Calderon at the weekend and remain in 7th place. They’ve struggled on the road though overall this season and have only won 2 of 16 matches away from home in all competitions.
They are likely to rest a few players here but it could be a strong bench in case they run in to trouble but with Europa League football still to come, they are going to have a lot of football to play over the coming months and Unai Emery would like some fresh legs to call upon.
Given that Mirandes, who have a great recent record in this competition, are well capable of at least avoiding defeat and you can back them to do that at 11/10.
They made the Semi-Finals in 2012 and won’t give up on a repeat easily and at 16/1 look really good value for a 2-1 win here but it’s very hard to see them picking up the 3 goal margin they need to progress.
