MK Dons

      Tip Reasoning

After a promising start to their first season in the Second tier of English football, MK Dons have hit a real rough patch and have lost their last 5 games in all competitions including a 6-0 thrashing at home to Southampton in midweek. They’ve conceded 2 or more in all of those games and have scored just 3 goals in the league since their big opening day win at Rotherham.

It will all be concerning for Karl Robinson and they will need a much improved showing if they are to get anything from their game with Derby. The Rams have just started to hit some form after a slow start under Paul Clement and they are certainly the side who come into this game with all the momentum.

They’ve taken 7 points from their 3 games so far this month with wins on the road at Reading and Preston suggesting they have all the ingredients to come here and win. It’s over 6 months since they lost a Championship away game and they are perhaps more suited to playing away from the iPro Stadium where teams tend to come and park the bus, which County this season at least have struggled with.

MK Dons were a very attacking side in League 1 but have been a bit more cautious this year at the higher level. With home advantage though they’ll be encouraged to have a go by their fans although that could be their downfall. Derby have better players and are in better form and look good value to pick up a 3rd straight away win at Evens.

They are still a little bit lacking in conviction in the final third but you’d expect them to boss this game and against a MK Dons side that have been really struggling for goals they could well keep a clean sheet. Therefore consider backing the Rams to win 2-0 at 17/2.
