Monaco can stop struggling visitors

Monaco have been impressive in front of goal at home this season, and they should be backed to secure the win when Paris visit Stade Louis II on Saturday. Sebastien Pocognoli’s side have netted 14 goals in just five home games this season – an average of 2.80 goals per game.

They are second in Ligue 1, ten places and nine points above Paris, with six wins, two draws and two losses from their ten games this season, while the visitors have won three, drawn two and lost five.

Monaco maintained their winning run with a 5-3 victory away at Nantes on Wednesday. Mamadou Coulibaly put Monaco ahead in the sixth minute and they have now won five of the six games in which they’ve scored first this season. Aleksandr Golovin struck twice, with Folarin Balogun and Maghnes Akliouche also on target for Monaco.

The visitors need to turn things around. Paris have gone three Ligue 1 games without recording a victory and have won just one of their last six matches.

The home side are dangerous going forward this season. Monaco have scored in nine of their last ten league games, scoring three or more goals in four of those, and averaging 2.83 goals a game in their six Ligue 1 games against bottom-half teams this season.

Monaco are in excellent form at home, where they have gone 13 games without defeat in Ligue 1 and have been winners in 13 of their last 16. They are unbeaten in their five home games this season.

The visitors have been poor defensively this season. Paris have conceded on each of their last five Ligue 1 away days and have failed to keep a clean sheet in nine of their last ten league games.

Paris have lost out by the odd goal in two of their last three Ligue 1 matches, and a narrow 1-0 home success for Monaco appeals as a correct-score option.
