Napoli To Win To Nil

Reason for tip

Champions Napoli have kept two clean sheets in three Serie A fixtures this season, while Pisa have failed to score in each of their last two league assignments. Back the champions to enjoy a comfortable ride against their struggling visitors.

Napoli 2-0

Reason for tip

Napoli beat newly-promoted Sassuolo 2-0 in August and they can push for a similar scoreline against a Pisa side that has registered just one goal in three league fixtures combined since their promotion.

Napoli vs Pisa Predictions

  • Napoli have won 100% of their first three Serie A fixtures of the new campaign.
  • The champions managed to secure clean sheets in two of those three victories.
  • Pisa were beaten to nil in each of their last two assignments in Serie A.

Champions should be comfortable against newly-promoted Pisa

Napoli’s chances against Man City in the Champions League in midweek were scuppered by an early dismissal for skipper Giovanni Di Lorenzo and they eventually succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at The Etihad Stadium, however, Antonio Conte’s troops are fancied to bounce back against Pisa.

Napoli have started their Serie A title defence in convincing style, securing wins in each of their first three league matches of the new campaign against Sassuolo, Cagliari and Fiorentina while conceding just a single goal along the way.

Last season’s talisman Scott McTominay is already off the mark, as are summer captures Kevin De Bruyne and Rasmus Hojlund, and in-form Napoli will kick off Monday evening’s test against Pisa as heavy odds-on favourites to triumph again.

Value here is hard to find, though backing Napoli to win to nil against the minnows moves the needle in a better direction.

Pisa were beaten to nil in each of their last two Serie A assignments by Roma (0-1) and Udinese (0-1), in fact, the only goal they’ve scored since their promotion came in the form of an OG by Atalanta defender Isak Hien in their opening fixture.

Pisa clocked only two shots on target in their loss to Udinese last weekend, so it’s difficult to see how they can trouble a Napoli side that had Serie A’s best defence last season.

Alongside backing Napoli to win to nil, we’re forecasting a 2-0 home victory for our correct score prediction. Napoli put two goals without reply past newly-promoted Sassuolo last month and they can see Pisa off with similar ease.
