Netherlands To Win To Nil

Reason for tip

Poland have failed to win any of their last 13 games against the Netherlands and that looks unlikely to change in Rotterdam as the Dutch look to push on from strong performances in their opening two World Cup qualifiers.

Netherlands 2-0

Reason for tip

The Dutch have yet to concede a goal in their two World Cup qualifying matches and they should be able to see their way past Poland without too much difficulty, so go for a 2-0 home win.

Netherlands vs Poland Predictions

  • Poland have not won any of their last 13 games against the Netherlands.
  • Ronald Koeman’s side have scored ten goals without replay in their two World Cup qualifiers so far.
  • The Dutch have scored at least twice in each of their last nine home internationals.

Dutch looking comfortable in qualifying

The Netherlands have had to battle it out in some of their recent games against Poland, but they should be more comfortable in Rotterdam on Thursday and can claim their third consecutive World Cup qualifying victory without conceding.

The Dutch came from behind to beat Poland 2-1 at the 2024 Euros and it was a similar story when they met before that in the Nations League when the Poles surrendered a two-goal lead in a 2-2 draw.

However, Ronald Koeman’s boys demonstrated just how ruthless they can be in an 8-0 win over Malta, while Poland’s qualifying results have been uninspiring.

Rebuilding job for Poland

Poland have a change in the dugout for this game following Michal Probierz’s resignation that came after their latest 2-1 defeat to Finland.

A falling out with veteran Robert Lewandowski did not help his cause, but it is up to Jan Urban to get their qualification bid back on track as even though they gained wins over Malta and Lithuania, those showings were hardly inspiring.

A trip to Rotterdam should show Poland just how much they have to do to force their way into next summer’s footballing extravaganza and they may not be able to threaten the Dutch, so go for the home team to win without conceding, while correct-score enthusiasts may be interested in a 2-0 win for Koeman’s boys.
