Newport need a return to form

Newport looked destined to mount a challenge for the top three until a week ago, but a draw with Bradford and defeat to Hartlepool has seen them slump to three points off the top three.

They still have a huge shout of reaching the automatic promotion spots, and their usually sturdy defence, who have kept three clean sheets in five games, will be crucial in that.

Each of those three matches has seen fewer than three goals, while as have three of their last five outings at Rodney Parade, two of which have ended 1-1.

Exeter chasing down Forest Green

This could finally be the year Exeter return to League One, as they now sit just four points behind leaders Forest Green, smaller than the gap between themselves and fourth place.

Matt Taylor’s side have only lost one of their last 15 fixtures and have one of the better away records in the division, winning seven times and losing just four of their 19 outings.

Goals tend to come at a premium when they play though – they too have kept clean sheets in three of their last five, with each game containing fewer than three strikes, as have six of their last eight away matches.

I expect this to be a tight game, predicting fewer than three goals in the game, but Exeter could sneak it, so my correct score prediction is a 1-0 away win.
