Norway vs Hungary Betting Tips

Norway missed out on automatic qualification to Euro 2016 by just a single point as Croatia pipped them to the post thanks to the Norwegian’s loss against Italy in the final group game.

This left them on 19 points after ten games, with their three defeats coming against Croatia once and Italy twice, with their draw against Azerbaijan also proving to be a crucial missed oportunity.

They did manage to beat the Croatians in the home fixture in Group H, but the rest of their points came against the likes of Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, and Malta.

There could be a concern that Norway can’t seem to perform against the better teams in the competition.

Hungary ended their Euro 2016 group campaign with a shock defeat to the previously dreadful Greece, but that result didn’t matter too much as they had already missed out on automatic qualification.

They finished four points adrift of 2^nd placed Romania and four points clear of Finland in 4^th, so they already knew their fate before their final group game.

But the 4-3 defeat to Greece will have damaged their confidence slightly. The Greeks had only scored twice in the nine games prior to this and were yet to win in the group.

Before this loss Hungary had gone eight Euro 2016 qualifying games without defeat, with only their opening game loss to Northern Ireland seeing them go home with nothing.

But their away form is a bit of a worry. They had only managed to beat Finland and the Faroe Islands on the road, with lacklustre 1-0 wins on both occasions.

Norway have certainly had the better of recent meetings between these two nations, with Hungary not winning against them since 1982 and losing four of the last five meetings.

This makes odds of 10/11 for a Norway win look really appealing to me, and I think those odds offer a lot of value.
