Both Teams To Score

Both teams have scored in four of Norwich’s last five competitive games and in five of West Brom’s last eight competitive games. The two teams also recorded 4-1 wins over lower-ranked sides in the Carabao Cup last weekend.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

The Baggies have scored multiple goals in their last five games, including friendlies, but may not see as much of the ball at Norwich. The Canaries have enough quality to secure a 2-1 win given the way they handled MK Dons in the cup last weekend.

Topsey-turvey teams start afresh

There should be goals at Carrow Road on Saturday when Norwich City and West Brom, two clubs that had topsey-turvey campaigns last year, clash on the opening weekend of the Championship.

The Canaries were languishing in the relegation zone last Christmas, but the appointment of Philippe Clement in November changed everything. Under the ex-Rangers boss, they won 13 of their final 21 league games to finish only a handful of points off the playoffs.

West Brom looked comfortable in mid-table at the turn of the year, but the disastrous appointment of Eric Ramsay sucked them into a relegation battle as they avoided the drop by the skin of their teeth.

Goals at both ends in Norfolk

The prospects for this season look equally hard to call for both clubs as Clement looks to build and James Morrison fights fires. However, both teams have been scoring goals in pre-season and began their Carabao Cup campaigns with 4-1 wins against lower-division sides.

The Canaries made a blistering start against MK Dons, going 3-0 up at half-time. They are a shade of odds-on for this clash too, which seems fair given the Baggies have lost several key attacking players over the summer.

However, a talented young squad headlined by ex-Chelsea kid Jimmy-Jay Morgan and home-grown prospect Harry Whitwell have the potential to surprise their hosts. Back both teams to score with Norwich potentially just good enough to secure a 2-1 win in front of their own fans.
