Palermo vs Inter Milan Betting Tips

Palermo picked up an important win last weekend, beating relegation battlers Bologna 1-0 away from home. There’s very little that could be regarded as remarkable or spectacular about what Palermo have done over the last couple of years, but they were a steady upper mid-table team all season in 2014-15, and a start that had seen them win just two of their first seven games may have had a few fans worry.

It wasn’t a case of dominating against Bologna, but away games are never easy in Serie A. Palermo controlled the game well enough, defended well and got the goal they needed to pick up three points.

They’ll face a tougher challenge on Saturday when Inter Milan pay a visit. Roberto Mancini’s team are win-less in three games, losing 4-1 to Fiorentina before drawing back-to-back matches against Sampdoria and Juventus. Still, they’ve had good defensive structure.

In their first five games, Inter Milan were effective at controlling the flow of games and shutting out some of Serie A’s less imposing attacking teams. We’d probably have to lump Palermo into that category.

Their approach isn’t as effective against some of the division’s better sides, but we think they’ll clamp down on Palermo and steal the goal they need to win.

Better than even odds on an Inter win here is a pretty good betting opportunity.

It’s not meant as an insult to their team, but they really lack cutting edge up there and the lack of a serious threat should allow Inter to play the game they want to play.
