Bottom side Venezuela can frustrate Paraguay

Paraguay take on Venezuela in CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying on Thursday night in what could be a closer affair than the odds suggest.

Venezuela sit bottom of the table with just four points from eight games, while Paraguay have eight points.

Los Guaranies’ problem has been too many stalemates as they have drawn five of their eight games so far, with one win and two defeats, and they are yet to pick up a home win in four attempts.  

Venezuela are yet to pick up any points on their travels after four games but they gave Peru a real test despite playing for nearly an hour with 10 men earlier this week and can hold to a draw on Paraguay on Thursday, with a 1-1 result my correct score selection.
