Partick vs Hamilton Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Partick Thistle managed to make it through to the next round of the Scottish FA Cup last weekend with a 1-0 win away to St Johnstone, with that continuing the more promising run of results they are on at the moment.

The hosts have now won four, drawn two, and lost three of their last seven outings in all competitions, although the improvement of the teams’ surrounding them in the Scottish Premiership still leaves them just two points clear of the relegation playoff position in 10th.

In fairness two of those victories came in the Scottish FA Cup, and their Premiership form is less impressive. They have won two, drawn two, and lost two of their last six, with that immediately following a run of seven games in which they picked up just two points.

Hamilton also found themselves in the hat for the next round of the Scottish Cup thanks to their penalty victory on Tuesday, with both games against Dunfermline ending 1-1. This makes it two wins, four draws, and one defeat for Hamilton in their last seven outings.

In the Premiership they have been able to pick up a few points recently, with a win against bottom of the table Inverness CT and a draw at home to Kilmarnock, but wins are generally difficult for them to come by. They have won one of their last 14 league matches, drawing seven of them and leaving them 11th in the table with just a three point lead over bottom placed Inverness CT. It could be a tight relegation battle this term.

Neither of these teams find it particularly easy to pick up three points, and with six of their last seven meetings with one another ending all square all the signs are pointing towards another stalemate here. Partick have drawn a third of their home league games this season, whilst Hamilton have played out six stalemates in their 11 away days this season. Odds of 5/2 for another draw here look good value, and I’m also going for a 1-1 correct score predictions at 11/2.
