Poland to Win

Reason for tip

Scotland will be feeling confident after a 1-0 win over Croatia, but a first-half red card for their opponents helped them to that victory and they may be less fortunate in Warsaw. Poland won the reverse fixture and should have too much for the Scots, who have conceded 13 goals while losing their last four away games.

Poland 2-1

Reason for tip

Both teams have scored in each of Poland’s last five home matches suggesting that any win over the Scots will have to be achieved by outscoring their visitors. 2-1 was the scoreline in the Poles last home win – over Turkey in June – and that could land again.

Poland vs Scotland Predictions

  • Poland have won one of their last eight games
  • Scotland have lost just one of their last six meetings with these opponents
  • The Scots have kept two consecutive clean sheets

Scotland set for tough trip to Warsaw

Scotland gave their Nations League A survival hopes a huge boost with a 1-0 win over Croatia on Friday.

John McGinn’s goal handed the Tartan Army their victory over the Croats and their hopes of survival are now in their own hands, as a win over Poland would see them finish third in Group A1 and enter the relegation playoffs, avoiding a guaranteed drop in the process.

Securing that win in Warsaw will not be easy, though, as proven by Poland’s 3-2 victory in the reverse fixture, and the Scots may set for an immediate return to League B.

Hosts heading for a rare victory

While Scotland’s win over the Croats was impressive, it was earned in large part due to Petar Sucic’s first-half red card.

It still took the Scots 86 minutes to find a breakthrough and, having lost four away games in the spin while shipping 13 goals, it is difficult to envisage the Tartan Army securing their desired result in Warsaw.

Poland have lost just one of their last 11 home games, beating Germany and Turkey in that run, and look set to be too strong for Scotland.
