FC Porto to Win and Under 3.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Porto have won their first five home league games of the season with fewer than four goals in four of them. And they should respect Estoril, who beat them three times last season – doing a rare league double over the Dragons.

FC Porto 2-0

Reason for tip

Estoril have failed to score in three of their four previous away league assignments this term, but have only shipped more than two goals on two of their last six visits to the Dragao. A 2-0 defeat might be on the cards with Porto potentially looking to take their foot off the gas once a two-goal lead is established because of their impending away trip to face Lazio.

FC Porto vs Estoril Predictions

  • Porto have won their first five home league games of the season with fewer than four goals in four of them
  • Porto will respect Estoril, who beat them three times last season – doing a rare league double over the Dragons
  • Samu Omorodion has scored seven goals in five league starts for Porto

Dragons should respect the Canaries

Porto’s Primeira Liga title push should continue unabated when they entertain mid-table Estoril, although the Dragons should pay the visitors plenty of respect on Sunday.

The Canaries beat Porto three times in four meetings last season and did the league double over Sergio Conceicao’s side. Conceicao left in the summer along with several experienced players, but the new-look Dragons appear to have hit form under Vitor Bruno.

Five consecutive wins with 14 goals scored and only one conceded suggest they will be capable of earning a comfortable win over Estoril, who snapped a three-game winless run with a 4-1 win over relegation-threatened Arouca last Saturday.

Lazio clash looms for Porto

But with a tough Europa League trip to Rome to face Lazio on the horizon next week, the smart play here is to back Porto to win in a job-done style.

Samu Omorodion, who has scored seven goals in five league starts since moving to Portugal from Atletico Madrid, is the obvious candidate to get on the scoresheet again after his treble sank AVS last weekend.

And a 2-0 correct score play may also prove profitable as Estoril have failed to score in three of their four previous away league assignments this term, but have only shipped more than two goals on two of their last six visits to the Dragao.
