Portugal to Win and Over 3.5 Match Goals
Reasoning
Portugal vs Iceland Predictions
- Portugal have recorded eight wins to nil in their last nine competitive games
- Four of the hosts’ last five at home have ended with four or more goals
- Iceland have seen over 3.5 goals in their last three away games
Portugal to keep rolling
When the groups were released for the Euro 2024 qualifiers it was hard to see any real challenge to Portugal topping the group and that has proven the case, with the Iberians winning all nine of their games so far.
Roberto Martinez’s side host Iceland in the final group match hoping to make it a perfect ten wins from ten. They have also conceded just two goals and scored 34 as they have totally dominated the section.
Martinez played an ultra-attacking team against Liechtenstein but they only won 2-0 so he may opt for a more balanced XI in this clash, although Cristiano Ronaldo netted last time out and could well feature again.
Routine win expected for hosts
Portugal have been by far the best team in this group and they should be too strong for an Iceland side that have lost four of their last five away games, conceding 12 goals in the process.
The hosts have been rock solid defensively, keeping eight clean sheets in their last nine games since the World Cup and are fancied to rack up a high-scoring win to nil here.
Four of Portugal’s last five home games have gone over 3.5 goals and a repeat of that looks likely with the hosts fancied for a 4-0 win for correct score backers.
