Preston vs Blackburn Rovers Predictions

Preston primed for first win of the season

It’s early in the Championship season, but already Preston must be fearing for their second-tier status.

North End have lost all of their four Championship matches, they have sunk to the bottom of the table and Paul Heckingbottom’s men are now among the favourites to be relegated from the second tier this term.

Preston’s defeats have come against Bolton, Wolves, Charlton and Bristol City and Tuesday’s 3-1 Deepdale loss to the Robins was the most concerning result.

The Lilywhites will hope that new arrivals Liam Gibbs and Johnny Kenny, who were signed on deadline day can bring about some improvement and it may need to come against Blackburn on Saturday.

Rovers have beaten Middlesbrough 2-1 and taken a point in a 2-2 draw with Wolves this season, but those were fortunate results in games in which Tony Mowbray’s men were outplayed.

Blackburn were clearly second best in a 0-0 draw at Lincoln in midweek and Rovers were already under pressure before Tom Atcheson was sent off in the second half.

Preston may be able to pick up their first Championship win of the season in this spot.
