Preston vs Nottingham Forest Predictions
Preston have gone back to basics to some extent and have rediscovered their strong defensive qualities which provided the foundations for their promotion from League 1 last season.
They are unbeaten in 4 matches and haven’t conceded a single goal in that period. You have to go back exactly a month to the 3rd of October for the last time they conceded a goal and that will be a concern for Forest boss Dougie Freedman given his side have only scored twice in their last 5 games and have only picked up 3 points from their last 7 matches all of which came via draws.
They are now only 1 point above Preston in the league and there are quite a few similarities between the sides. Forest have only scored 11 goals in 14 outings so far, which is still 1 more than Preston have managed and Bolton and Charlton are the only other clubs to have netted fewer than 12 times.
This certainly doesn’t have the makings of a high scoring contest. Preston have been involved in an incredible five 0-0 draws already this season in the league and 3 of them have come in their last 4 matches including the visit of Bolton to Deepdale on Saturday.
Nottingham Forest aren’t really the sort of side who are likely to make this a much more entertaining contest and certainly backing ‘No’ in the Both Teams to Score market at 5/6 looks a solid bet.
Preston are in the better form though and are the confident side, which could prove decisive. Forest have already lost at Ashton Gate to hand newly promoted Bristol City their first and to-date only home win back at this level and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if they were to allow Preston the same luxury on Tuesday.
1 goal might settle this one and you can back Preston to get it and secure a 1-0 win at 6/1.
