PSG To Win To Nil

Reason for tip

PSG are riding high at the top of the Ligue 1 standings and have won their last 13 meetings with struggling Metz, who have lost each of their last three in the league without scoring. The last five meetings between these two sides at the Parc des Princes have ended in home victories to nil.

PSG 2-0

Reason for tip

PSG’s last two victories have been by a two-goal margin or less, while Metz have not lost by more than two goals since the start of October.  While this should be a routine victory for PSG, the scoreline may not be as emphatic as they would like.

Kylian Mbappe To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

PSG forward Kylian Mbappe has scored nine goals across his last eight Ligue 1 appearances and he grabbed a hat-trick in last season’s corresponding fixture with Metz. The France international could and perhaps should be on the scoresheet again this midweek.

PSG vs Metz Predictions

  • PSG have won 13 matches in a row against Metz
  • Metz have failed to score in their last three Ligue 1 matches
  • Kylian Mbappe has scored nine goals across his last eight league games

Hosts to bounce back against favoured opposition

PSG were held to a 1-1 draw at Lille last time out, but they were still able to extend their lead at the top of the Ligue 1 standings to five points after nearest rivals Nice slipped up on the road at Le Havre.

The Parisians have won five league matches on the spin on home soil, keeping clean-sheets in three of those games and they also have a fabulous recent record against Metz, winning 13 matches on the spin against Wednesday’s visitors.

That record appears even more impressive when factoring in only meetings at the Parc des Princes, as the last five of those have ended in PSG victories to nil.

Metz struggling for goals

A run of three successive defeats have seen Metz slip dangerously close to the relegation zone and they have also failed to score in all of those losses.

Goals have been an issue for Laszlo Boloni’s side for much of this season, as only two teams have struck fewer goals in Ligue 1 during 2023/24 than the Maroons’ total of 15.

All the signs are that this should be a routine return to winning ways for PSG against out-of-form opposition and Kylian Mbappe, who has scored nine goals across his last eight Ligue 1 appearances, could be worth following in the anytime scorer markets.
