      PSV vs Inter Milan Predictions

PSV are running away with the Eredivisie, as they’re already five points clear after just seven games this season. That great form is marking them out as the favourites for the title, but they had a rude awakening in their return to the Champions League. Their great domestic form did little to stop Lionel Messi and co. two weeks’ ago, as they lost 4-0 at the Camp Nou. This difficult group brings more danger for the Dutch champions, who are hosting Inter Milan on Wednesday.

The Dutch side had a 2-0 win over NAC Breda at the weekend, which continued their brilliant start domestically. They now turn their focus to the Champions League, were even finishing third in their group is a huge challenge. The Dutch side would have been hoping for Inter Milan to turn up all at sea, but the Nerazzurri announced themselves as a real contender in Group B with their win over Tottenham in Matchday 1. Now the Serie A giants are aiming to build on that, and they have an excellent chance to make it six points from six on Wednesday.

Inter Milan come here on the back of a 2-0 success over Cagliari in Serie A, and suddenly things are looking great for them. The Nerazzurri had a difficult start, and their chances of challenging Juventus this season looked bleak. While they can’t quite touch the champions – who already lead Inter by eight points – Luciano Spalletti’s side are just two points shy of second placed Napoli. They’re now up and running in the league, and that’s a good omen for their meeting with PSV this week.

Early season Inter were likely to be also-rans against Tottenham and Barcelona. Instead, the Nerazzurri woke up during their encounter with Spurs, and they turned a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 victory. They’re now in a position to challenge the Catalans, and six points here would set them up in an interesting position ahead of a double header against Barca. It’s hard to argue wtih Inter’s four straight wins, and that makes them the deserved favourites here.

The hosts’ last Champions League group campaign brought a single point at home, and just one goal. They lost four out of six overall that season, only avoiding defeats in draws against Rostov. Inter should be well placed to beat a PSV side who haven’t really improved since then. The visitors have racked up 10 goals in their last six games, conceding just three times in that spell, and their great form should bring another three points in this trip.
