Reading vs Barnsley Predictions

Reading have been winners in four of their last six League One home games and they are the best bet to beat Barnsley on Saturday.

Both teams have won more games than they’ve lost this season, with Reading 11th in League One having won nine and lost eight of their 25 games, while Barnsley are 15th with nine wins and eight defeats.

Reading have been in fine form going forward, having found the net in 22 of their last 23 league games. They have scored an average of 1.67 goals a game in their 12 League One games against bottom-half teams this season.

The hosts are in fine fettle. Reading have enjoyed three straight League One successes at home and have lost just one of their last ten on their own patch.

The visitors are enduring a rough spell on the road, with Barnsley failing to win eight of their last nine League One away games. They have not won any of their last four.

The visitors have struggled defensively of late. Barnsley have failed to keep a clean sheet in 18 of their last 20 League One games and have conceded on each of their last nine road trips.

A 2-0 home win looks a decent correct-score option. Three of Reading’s last four League One matches have produced under 2.5 goals and Barnsley have suffered three defeats by a 2-0 scoreline this season.
