Tip Reasoning

  • Reading have won 11 of their 18 home matches this season.
  • The Royals have won their last two starts at the Madejski without conceding a goal.
  • Veljko Paunovic’s side ran out 0-1 winners at Loftus Road in December’s reverse fixture.

Royals to bag 12th home win of the season

Two poor results in the last week have left Reading hanging onto the final Play-Off spot, but the Royals can get their challenge back on track this weekend when they take on QPR at the Madejski.

Boss Veljko Paunovic will be bitterly disappointed to have collected just one point from consecutive away games against bottom third opposition in the shape of Nottingham Forest (1-1) and Birmingham City (2-1). Those results have seen Reading drop to sixth and seventh placed Bournemouth are now just two points behind going into the weekend’s fixtures.

Nonetheless, Royals supporters can be optimistic that their side will respond this Saturday as they have generally performed well on their own turf this season.

Reading have won 11 of their 18 matches at the Madejski (L7) and they got the better of their opponents 0-1 in December’s reverse fixture at Loftus Road.

QPR come into this contest in decent nick after three wins from four, though the Superhoops have only managed five victories from their 17 starts on the road this term.

That record, coupled with Reading’s strike rate at home, makes the Royals a sound bet here at a touch of odds-against – particularly as Paunovic’s men have won their last two at the Madejski without conceding.

With that in mind, another 1-0 score-line between these sides could also be on the cards this Saturday afternoon as the Royals seek to fend off the teams below them in the table.
