Real Betis vs Celta Vigo Predictions

There is plenty to admire about both these sides right now. Celta Vigo’s refreshing brand of attacking football has seen them secure plenty of encouraging results and they head into December in the top four and with hopes of staying there a while longer.

There have been one or two cracks formulating in recent weeks though. A crushing 5-1 defeat at home to Valencia suggested the wheels might have well and truly fallen off and a defeat at local rivals Deportivo in their next game only furthered those thoughts. They bounced back last weekend but needed a late winner from Nolito to see off struggling Sporting Gijon at home and they aren’t quite at their best right now.

That’s good news for Real Betis who were 1-0 winners at Levante last weekend to move into 11th place, which is a very creditable position given this is their first season back in the top flight. Their main issues have been at home where they have only won once in the league but a 2-0 victory over top flight opposition in the form of Sporting at the Estadio Benito Villamarín in the Copa del Rey in midweek will have given them confidence.

Betis have the makings of a good side with the experience of Rafael Van der Vaart and Joaquin providing a touch of midfield quality and capable service to the prolific Ruben Castro, who has 8 league goals to his name already. With Vigo wobbling, Real Betis could take advantage here and they are really good value at 3/4 to at least avoid defeat in this match.

They are capable of doing more than that and springing a minor surprise and beating the Galicians and you can back this to end in a 2-1 home win at odds of 11/1.
