Real Betis 2-1

Reason for tip

Betis have scored multiple goals in their last three games and have kept only one clean sheet in seven competitive matches this season. Osasuna have scored once in three of their last five and conceded no more than once in five of six La Liga games this term, so a 2-1 home win could be on the cards.

Antony To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

After nine goals in 26 games on loan at Real Betis last season, Antony opened his account following his permanent move with a rare right-foot finish against Nottingham Forest. He remains Betis’ inspiration.

Betis face Basques at La Cartuja

Real Betis should beat Osasuna in Sunday’s La Liga fixture at La Cartuja but the Basque side will be waiting to pick them off if there is any hint of a post-European hangover.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side opened their Europa League campaign against former back-to-back European Cup winners Nottingham Forest on Wednesday and fought back for a 2-2 draw.

Antony’s 85th-minute equaliser capped a superb second half from Los Verdiblancos, but the effort they put in may take the edge of their performance this Sunday. Osasuna were also in action in midweek but they drew 1-1 at home to Elche in very different circumstances.

Antony and Victor Munoz in superb form

Victor Munoz set the hosts on the perfect path with a stunning effort from outside the box, but they sat on that lead and Elche wrestled the momentum back as they dominated the second half.

When the visitors equalised in stoppage-time, it was no less than they and Osasuna deserved. The Pamplona outfit had been hangng on for a while and should have run the clock down before the defensive mix-up that led to the leveller.

Both teams clearly have their flaws, but the form of Munoz and Antony suggests there should be some memorable moments too. Back both teams to scorem which has been a standing dish in Betis games this season and has landed in five of the last six head-to-head meetings too.
