Real Madrid to Win and Over 3.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Real Madrid have won all five matches this season, scoring multiple goals in each of the last four. They beat Espanyol 4-1 in the corresponding fixture last season and something similar could be on the cards if Kylian Mbappe continues his impressive scoring run. Espanyol have conceded at least two goals in two of their last three La Liga matches and will be without in-form star Pere Milla on Saturday.

Real Madrid 3-1

Reason for tip

Real Madrid average 2.7 home goals per game across their last 10 La Liga matches and have kept nine clean sheets in that sequence. Espanyol have failed to score in either of their two away trips this term, but they have scored once on each of their last two visits to the Bernabeu so a 3-1 scoreline could be on the cards.

Kylian Mbappe To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Kylian Mbappe has scored six goals in five games for Real Madrid this season. He is averaging just under six shots per game in La Liga this season and registered a total of eight against Marseille in midweek.

Real Madrid vs Espanyol Predictions

  • Real Madrid have won all five matches this season, scoring multiple goals in each of the last four
  • Espanyol have conceded at least two goals in two of their last three La Liga matches
  • Kylian Mbappe has scored six goals in five games for Real Madrid this season

Los Blancos primed for goal-laden victory

Real Madrid look likely to overwhelm an Espanyol side without their most in-form player when the Parakeets land at the Bernabeu on Saturday. Xabi Alonso’s side have won five matches in a row and demonstrated all the qualities they will need to fight on all fronts when beating Marseille with 10 men on Tuesday.

It was not looking good for Los Blancos when Dani Carvajal was sent off with the scores level at 1-1, but Kylian Mbappe converted a hotly-disputed penalty to ensure they got their Champions League campaign off to a winning start.

The Frenchman now has six goals in five club games this season and, although his anytime goalscorer odds are short, he currently looks like he is going to score every time he walks onto the pitch.  With Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga back in contention to start after injury lay-offs, Alonso can rotate and refresh his line-up from midweek.

Espanyol star suspended

Espanyol are also unbeaten this season after battling to a 3-2 home win over Real Mallorca on Monday. They looked comfortable at 2-0 up in the first half, but a penalty/red card incident gifted Mallorca a route back into the game on the stroke of half-time.

The Parakeets dug deep to find a way, despite facing a barrage of shots in the second half. However, they will now miss suspended in-form star Pere Milla at the Bernabeu and that will significantly reduce their chances of earning any points.

Real Madrid should dominate possession, pin the visitors back and eventually pull clear. And with Mbappe in sharp form, there is a good chance that they can secure a big win in front of their demanding fans. Backing the hosts to win and over 3.5 goals looks a strong play with a 3-1 scoreline preferred in correct score markets.
