Real Madrid vs Reims Predictions

Real Madrid begin their league campaign with a tough trip to Real Sociedad at the weekend but with a number of key players yet to feature in pre-season this will be an important game for them in terms of getting some much needed minutes under their belt ahead of the big kick-off. They still managed to win the UEFA Super Cup last week despite missing the likes Gareth Bale, Toni Kroos and Cristiano Ronaldo and have also won pre-season games against Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

This game should in theory be a walk in the park for the European champions and it’s the first time they’ll play at the Bernabeu since their 11th European triumph so there should be a good atmosphere and anything other than a comfortable home win would be a major surprise.

Reims are already 4 games into their season so may have a fitness advantage but will also use the game to rotate a bit and many subs on both sides are likely. They were relegated from Ligue 1 last term and have made a mixed start to the new campaign. Their three league games have produced 1 win and 2 draws but they were hammered 5-2 at home by Le Havre in the League Cup.

Real Madrid were a destructive force on their home ground last season when they came up against obviously much weaker sides and Reims certainly fall into that category. Los Blancos scored 4 or more goals on 12 occasions at home last term and with some of their big stars back here they will want to put on a show whilst also avoiding any injuries.

Given the huge gulf in class a comfy win should be on the cards and backing Real Madrid to Win & Over 3.5 Goals at 8/11 looks to offer value.
