Real Sociedad vs Deportivo La Coruna Predictions
The visitors appear to have hit choppy waters for the first time this season. They haven’t won any of their last 5 matches and have just 1 win in 9 overall. Depor have slipped down to 9th in La Liga which would still represent a very good season given they narrowly beat the drop last year.
They suffered a humiliating loss in midweek though when they fell to a 3-0 home defeat against Segunda Division Mirandes in the Copa del Rey and although Victor Sanchez made plenty of changes for the game, he would have still expected his side to progress. The feeling seems to be that Depor’s brilliant early season bubble has burst and this could be another tricky match for them.
Real Sociedad are still missing several senior players through injury but they coped pretty well without them last weekend when they beat Valencia 2-0 at the Anoeta. After a woeful start to the season, it has been a pretty good 2016 so far for the Basques and they’ll be optimistic about their chances of picking up another win here to give themselves a bit more breathing space on the bottom clubs and move into the safety of mid-table.
With home advantage Real Sociedad can be backed at 10/11 to inflict another defeat on Deportivo.
It could be a tight scrappy game though with both clubs missing a number of players through injury while Alejandro Arribas is suspended for the visitors.
With the prolific Imanol Agirretxe out, Jonathas really stepped up to the plate last weekend with both goals in Sociedad’s win over Valencia. He could be key here again and backing Real Sociedad to edge this 1-0 at 5/1 might be worth backing.
