Real Sociedad vs Malaga Predictions
Almost out of nowhere Real Sociedad have hit form. They’ve racked up 4 consecutive league wins for the first time in over 2 years and they’ve netted 9 times in their last 3 matches without conceding. Their 1-0 win away to Basque rivals Athletic Bilbao last weekend was a surprise to many and Sociedad fans will be hoping the team will now finally deliver on the potential they’ve had for so long. Just a month ago they looked like possible relegation candidates but are now up to 9th and eyeing up a place in Europe next year.
Malaga also looked like they could be set for a season of struggle at the beginning of the campaign but they’ve won 6 of their last 11 in La Liga despite having to play all of the top 7 clubs in that period. They held Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw last weekend and will believe they can get a result here.
Reason for Betting Tips
Although Real Sociedad have been scoring plenty of late it is hard to see there being many goals in this. Malaga have the 4th best defensive record in the division but only Betis have scored fewer goals than them. Real Sociedad will be without several key players to their attacking play. Illarramendi is suspended as is in-form striker Jonathas, who netted the only goal in Bilbao last weekend. Top scorer Imanol Agirretxe is also still out through injury so their goal threat is severely reduced and backing Both Teams to Score – NO at 4/5 looks the way to go here.
