Rotherham vs Derby Predictions
Derby make the relatively short trip North still unsure about which direction they are heading. They are in 5th place and will remain there whatever happens on Saturday. Automatic promotion would require a stunning run of form from them between now and the end of the season and they will have to be on their toes with a host of clubs within 6 points of them below. Their form has been mixed since Darren Wassall took charge. They have won 3 and lost 3 and are looking to avoid a 3rd straight away defeat here having been beaten on the road at Wolves a fortnight ago and QPR in midweek.
Rotherham’s form under Neil Warnock over the past fortnight has suddenly made the relegation battle at the bottom of the table interesting again. The bottom 3 looked like they could be cast adrift just a few weeks ago but the Millers have strung together 3 massive wins on the spin. A 2-1 win over Brentford followed by a 1-0 at local rivals Sheffield Wednesday gave Rotherham a much needed boost. Their 1-0 home win over 2nd placed Middlesbrough in midweek brought them genuine hope of beating the drop and they could move as high as 19th place if they can pick up a 4th consecutive win here.
Even under Neil Redfearn they showed they were capable of turning over supposed better sides at the New York Stadium. They have won 5 of their last 8 home games in the Championship with 4th placed Hull and 3rd placed Brighton also suffering defeat here. Therefore they have no reason to fear an inconsistent and unconvincing Derby side and backing Rotherham Double Chance at 17/20 really looks good here.
