Sabadell to keep survival ambitions alive

Sabadell fell to their third consecutive defeat in midweek and now, heading into the penultimate game of the season, their Spanish Segunda Division survival prospects hang by a thread.

They are four points adrift of safety with two games remaining but, with their final two games being against sides with nothing to play for, there is still a glimmer of hope for the home side.

Ponferradina find themselves eighth in the table after their 4-1 defeat to Espanyol last time out, but the eight point gulf between themselves and Vallecano in sixth means there is nothing on the line for the visitors.

You often see form start to dip towards the end of the season when a team has nothing to play for, and that’s exactly what’s happened with Ponferradina. They have lost three of their last four games and their 2-0 win at Castellon earlier this month was their first away win since January.
