San Jose Earthquakes vs Houston Dynamo Betting Tips & Predictions

San Jose Earthquakes disappointingly missed out on the playoffs last season, but they looked to have mended some key problems within their tactics when they opened the new campaign with back to back wins against Colorado Rapids and MLS Cup holders Portland Timbers.

Things have been a little less impressive since then as the San Jose Earthquakes have struggled to find three points. They have only lost three of their ten matches so far, but their last eight outings have only yielded two wins.

Both of these victories have come on home turf, which takes their home record this season to an impressive four wins and one draw in their five outings at the Avaya Stadium.

Houston Dynamo opened their season with a thrilling 3-3 draw against New England Revolution and followed it up with a 5-0 thrashing of their rivals FC Dallas. Things were looking very positive after their 8th place finish last term.

It didn’t last though. They lost 4-3 at New York Red Bulls in their 3rd match and proceeded to pick up just one point from their next five MLS matches. They finally ended their six match winless streak last weekend against Sporting Kansas City, but their away form is certainly something to be worried about.

Houston Dynamo have lost all four of their away days this season, and if you looked back into last season you can see that they haven’t won an away match since July. 12 of the 14 away days since then have ended in defeat as well.

This might be bad for the Houston Dynamo faithful, but it’s good for us. Odds of 4/5 for a San Jose Earthquakes win are exceptionally good value considering the home and away form of these teams, and I’m going for that alongside a 2-0 correct score prediction at 7/1.
