Antwerp looking to bounce back after rivals loss

Royal Antwerp, currently sat second in the Belgian top flight and chasing a first title since 1957, are looking to bounce back after losing to league leaders Union SG last time out. That reverse was Antwerp’s first in nine matches, and although Brian Priske’s team are now 10 points from the summit, the format of the Belgian league, which includes a Championship playoff where teams’ existing points tallies are halved, means their title hopes are still very much alive, and every point remains crucial.

Antwerp have a strong away record, and will be confident of bouncing back at Seraing on Friday night. Only rock-bottom Beerschot have scored fewer than the 26 goals managed by RFC Seraing in the Belgian top-flight this term, while only Union SG and Gent have conceded fewer than Antwerp, who have also won their last two away games to nil.
