Can Sligo close the gap up to the top three?

An inconsistent run, largely down to an inability to keep goals out, has seen Sligo fall away in the race for the top three of late, with Rovers failing to keep a clean sheet in their last eight matches.

Both teams have scored in each of those games, while five of them have also contained at least three goals, two of which have ended in victory for The Bit O’Reds.

New manager Jon Russell has picked up a win and a defeat from his two fixtures in charge, the victory coming at The Showgrounds, where they are unbeaten in five.

Finn Harps in big trouble

We are only 18 games into the season, but Finn Harps already look odds against to keep their place in the Irish Premiership, picking up just 11 of an available 54 points.

Ollie Horgan’s side have managed just two clean sheets in nine attempts on the road, with both teams scoring and three or more goals in four of their last five away matches.

They have won only one of their last dozen outings, losing eight times in the process, while Sligo ran out 3-1  and 1-0 winners when these two sides met earlier in the season.

I predict that both teams will score and  that there will be three or more goals in this game, while Sligo should have enough to get the victory, with 2-1 to the hosts my correct score prediction.
