Slovakia vs Germany Predictions
- Germany have won all six of their matches against Slovakia since 2001
- Slovakia have lost their last three games
- Eight of Germany’s last 11 games have featured at least three goals
Germans will be keen to make a fast start
Germany will have been disappointed to have fallen to Portugal in the semi-finals of the Nations League and then subsequently losing to France in the third-pace game, but they should be hungry to get their World Cup qualifying campaign off to a strong start against Slovakia.
The Germans have won just one of their last five games, but they face a team who have lost their last three matches and scored just three times in their last six outings.
Just three teams have to be seen off if Germany are to gain their place in next summer’s footballing extravaganza – Northern Ireland and Luxembourg are the others they will face in Group A – but they should be confident of gaining a comfortable win.
Goals are the issue for Slovakia
Slovakia boss Francesco Calzona needs to get his team firing up front.
They failed to score in their last home game against Slovenia and netted only once when Estonia paid them a visit the time before that.
A 1-0 friendly defeat to Israel again exposed their lack of potency in the final third and it is difficult to see them netting in this one, so go for Germany to win without conceding, while correct-score punting enthusiasts are pointed towards a 3-0 away success.
