      Sweden to Win

      Reason for tip

Sweden may not have all their creative forces at their disposal but they should have too much for a Slovenia team who look unlikely to match their goal output. Opt for an away win in this own.

      Sweden 2-0

      Reason for tip

Without Dejan Kulusevski and with Alexander Isak probably not firing on all cylinders, a couple of goals may be the most the visitors can muster, so correct-score punters are pointed towards a 2-0 success for Jon Dahl Tomasson’s side.

      Slovenia vs Sweden Predictions

      • Sweden have scored 30 goals in their last ten matches.
      • All four of the previous meetings have finished with fewer than three goals.
      • Slovenia have scored more than once in just two of their last 15 games.

Sweden still have enough to claim three points

Sweden boss Jon Dahl Tomasson will be hoping his team will take last season’s goalscoring form into the start of their World Cup qualifying campaign when they begin their quest to reach next summer’s extravaganza.

If they do claim a victory he will have to do it without Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski and while Alexander Isak has been named in the squad, it will be interesting to see just how much of a role he will play following his protracted transfer to Liverpool after a pre-season on non-activity.

However, the national team boss will be delighted that Viktor Gyokeres is off the mark at Arsenal and they could be a force in a group that also contains Switzerland and Kosovo.

      Slovenia struggling for goals

Slovenia have their own big-name striker in Manchester United new boy Benjamin Sesko, who scored a fine volley against the Swedes in a 1-1 nations League draw three years ago.

However, he is still finding his feet at Old Trafford and his national team have also struggled for goals over the last couple of years.

They have scored more than once on just two occasions since reaching the finals of Euro 2024, so they look vulnerable and an away win appeals, with a 2-0 success put up as a correct-score selection.
