Spain to Win and Over 3.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Spain have won their last six matches with over 3.5 goals in four of them. The game is set up to be a showcase event, so both teams will attack and Colombia have a good record in recent away friendlies, scoring at least two goals in their last four.

4/1odds when tipped

Spain 3-2

Reason for tip

Spain have scored exactly three goals in their last two matches, conceding once each time to Cyprus and Georgia. But Colombia are a better attacking unit and have scored at least two goals in their last four away friendly games.

Lamine Yamal To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Lamine Yamal has scored two goals in four appearances for Spain, including only two starts. The Barcelona teenager is in good form right now after a devastating display of attacking in last week’s Champions Lague quarter-final against Napoli.

A game that guarantees entertainment and goals

There should be enough entertainment for any neutrals at the London Stadium Stadium on Friday night when Spain take on Colombia in a friendly. The match has been arranged at the London venue as a ‘showcase event’ to launch a sponsorship agreement – a virtual guarantee that both teams will be in the mood to attack.

Luis de la Fuente’s side seems predisposed to doing that anyway now that a new generation of attacking talent is coming through. Gone are the days of playing journeyman striker Joselu up front, although he remains in the squad, as the likes of 16-year-old Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams, 21, take centre stage.

Spain will look to extend a six-game winning streak that has seen them score 22 goals and concede only three. They did professional 2-0 and 1-0 jobs against Scotland and Norway when the chips were down in qualifying, but this contest will probably enable them to cut loose in the manner they did when beating Georgia 7-1 or Cyprus 6-0.

Colombia are no pushovers

That’s not to say this will be a cakewalk for La Roja because Colombia are capable of giving them a good game. Nestor Lorenzo’s side have won four in a row, a run which began with a 2-1 home World Cup qualifying victory over Brazil.

Tricolor have a fine record in friendles too, having remained undefeated in their last 14 of which 12 were won. But they have not come up against a quality unit like Spain for some time, even if there is no real home advantage for their opponents, and their usual, physical approach to defending may be abandoned for once here.

Colombia could push Spain into something spectacular here — a memorable occasion for all concerned. A 3-2 Spanish victory looks possible given De La Fuente’s side have scored at least three goals in four of their last six games while Colombia have netted at least two in their last four away friendly games.
