The hosts just cannot stop conceding goals and are on a somewhat unwanted, but remarkable, run of conceding in all of their previous 26 matches. Boss Thiago Motta has had to manage with a depleted squad of late, due to injuries, but he’s yet to impress since replacing Vincenzo Italiano at the helm.

There is no denying that Genoa looks fairly good going forward, especially through top scorer Mattia Destro. But his efforts are constantly undone by the fact, like Spezia, that they cannot keep a clean sheet. They’ve let in the second-most goals in the division and are simply far too easy to break down.
