Grecians have lost momentum ahead of Stevenage trip 

Exeter City are unbeaten on their travels since mid-August, but Matt Taylor’s men have drawn too many games to be in the automatic promotion spots.

Held 2-2 at home by Walsall in the ‘Matt Taylor derby’ last Saturday, the Grecians followed that up with a similar result against League One Cheltenham in the EFL Trophy this past midweek. That was a third straight draw and means the visitors have lost some momentum from the back-to-back wins they enjoyed midway through September.

Green shoots of recovery for Boro

Stevenage have won their last two games, but the green shoots of recovery were evident as far back as in the 1-1 home draw with Swindon a month ago. The home humbling at the hands of Forest Green has been their only real performance setback, with a draw against Harrogate preceding the two recent wins and the prior loss to Sutton explained by the double whammy of a penalty and red card incident.

Alex Revell will expect a strong showing from a team that brushed aside mid-table Hartlepool last time out and, although Exeter are better, Boro can avoid defeat against a side that are prone to draws.

A 1-1 correct score prediction sounds about right here because Stevenage have only shipped more than once in two of their last 14 at The Lamex while Exeter are averaging 1.2 goals on their travels this term.
