Stoke vs Everton Predictions
Stoke looked to be a really good side a couple of months ago, with their continental stars such as Xherdan Shaqiri, Marco Arnautovic, Bojan, and Ibrahim Afellay performing well and getting results for a new look Stoke side.
But they have suffered a downturn in form recently, and they come into this match having only won one of their last five matches in all competitions.
Three of these games have ended in defeat for Stoke, but to be fair all of their last four games have been away from home. Their one home match during this period was against the in form Arsenal, and they managed to get a point from that.
This poor run has seen Stoke narrowly knocked out of the Capital One Cup semi final and eliminated from the FA Cup by Crystal Palace. In the Premier League they sit in an unspectacular 10th position, although they are only seven points off 5th placed Manchester United.
Everton’s 3-0 home win against Newcastle on Wednesday saw Roberto Martinez pick up his first Premier League win of 2016, and their recent record in all competitions stands at two wins, two defeats, and two draws in their last six outings.
During this period they have progressed in the FA Cup and, like their hosts, been knocked out of the Capital One Cup semi final.
Everton’s poor form in the Premier League puts them just below Stoke in the table, with just one point separating the two sides.
The problem with Everton all lies in defence. They have conceded eight goals in their last five games despite keeping two clean sheets. Attacking wise they are very impressive, with 11 goals in their last five outings.
This makes a Both Teams to Score backing look attractive to me, and the odds of 3/4 look fair value to me. I’m going for a 2-1 win for Everton as well at odds of 10/1.
