Torino vs AC Milan Predictions

  • The last six games to feature AC Milan have all contained under 2.5 goals, with the Rossoneri keeping five consecutive clean sheets.
  • Meanwhile, Torino have seen under 2.5 goals feature in each of their last four matches, and in seven of their last nine.
  • Milan boast the fourth-best defensive record in Serie A after conceding just 29 goals this term, while Torino have only conceded one goal more.

Solid Rossoneri bid to keep title hopes on track

A goalless draw with Bologna on Monday night allowed AC Milan’s title rivals Napoli and Inter to close the gap on Stefano Pioli’s men, and a side which has not conceded in their last five outings will need to draw upon their solid streak when they face an equally miserly Torino outfit.

Milan have kept five consecutive clean sheets to enter the run-in sitting proudly atop Serie A, but the goals seem to have dried up at the other end for the Rossoneri, with all of their last six games containing fewer than the goals. Milan have not hit multiple goals in a game since drawing 2-2 with Salernitana in mid-February, and have found the net just three times in their last five games.

Milan edged Torino out by a single goal back in October, and there’s every reason to think Il Toro will keep things low-scoring again on Sunday. Ivan Juric’s team have seen under 2.5 goals scored in each of their last four games, with a 1-0 defeat to Genoa showing there remains much work to be done in Turin, but a 1-1 draw at home to Inter, in their last match on this ground, demonstrating their ability to compete with the big boys.

Under 2.5 goals likely as Rossoneri eye crucial wins

With the title race entering its most critical phase in the coming weeks, a number of games involving Serie A’s leading lights are sure to be cagey affairs. With Milan boasting the fourth-best defensive record in the league, but Torino shipping just one goal more than Pioli’s men, this looks likely to be one of them.

We’re tipping under 2.5 match goals as our main tip, being wary of opposing the hosts after their recent draw with Inter and on the back of Milan failing to beat Bologna. However, few would back against the Rossoneri earing three points, and a 1-0 win for Milan, which would be their fourth such success in five games, could be a decent correct score prediction.
