Tottenham Hotspur and Both Teams To Score

      Reason for tip

Tottenham have yet to lose in Europe this season, but they come into Tuesday’s game on the back of successive defeats. Spurs are unbeaten in their last 21 European ties at home and they should be able to beat a team of Copenhagen’s level, but the Danish outfit should be able to score against a team that have won only three of their seven home games.

      Tottenham Hotspur 2-1

      Reason for tip

Tottenham have only failed to score in two of their seven home games this season and Copenhagen they should be able to wrestle their way past a Copenhagen side that have won just two of their previous 21 away matches in the Champions League group stage/league phase.

Tottenham Hotspur vs FC Copenhagen Predictions

      • Tottenham are unbeaten in their last 21 UEFA competition matches at home
      • Copenhagen have only won two of their last 19 matches against English teams and they have never won away from home
      • The visitors have only won two of their last 15 matches in the Champions League group stage/league phase.

Quick turnaround may help Tottenham out

Tottenham were booed off on Saturday night as they lost 1-0 to Chelsea on home soil in the Premier League.

Thomas Frank’s side were poor in the final third and lacked a spark, but a midweek Champions League fixture against FC Copenhagen should be just what they need to get back to winning ways.

Spurs were eliminated from the EFL Cup last week at the hands of Newcastle, but they have been tough to beat in Europe and have yet to fall to defeat.

After beating Villarreal 1-0 at home in September, Spurs have since picked up two draws on the road and they should be able to outclass their Danish opponents.

FC Copenhagen have won back-to-back games in domestic competition, but they have fallen short in Europe. They conceded four goals against Borussia Dortmund, while they were easily beaten 2-0 by Qarabag in October.

A 2-2 draw against Bayer Leverkusen is their best result so far in Europe, but all of their goals have come on home soil. The Danish giants have a poor record in the competition and even though Frank’s men are under pressure, they are better in all departments.

Copenhagen can take advantage of Spurs’ nerves

While the superior quality comes from the home dressing room in this tie, Tottenham have lacked that spark at home to really send their fans home happy.

Spurs have still enjoyed a solid start to the season and they have the best away record in the Premier League with four wins and no defeats in five games, with Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Chelsea all getting the better of them in North London.

However, Frank’s team have looked a little vulnerable at home and they have only kept clean sheets against Burnley, Villarreal and Doncaster.

Spurs’ fans may demand better, but Frank and his players are doing it tough at the minute and they have the likes of Lucas Bergvall, Archie Gray, Ben Davies, Yves Bissouma, Kota Takai, Radu Dragusin, Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison and Dominic Solanke in the treatment room.

While Copenhagen can score, they are notoriously bad on the road in Europe. They have won only two of their previous 21 away games in the group stage/league phase of the Champions League and they have only won two of their last 15 ties at this level.
