Tottenham Hotspur vs Fulham Predictions
- Fulham have lost their last five league away games
- Spurs have not won at home in the league since the opening weekend
- Seven of Tottenham’s last nine games have featured at least three goals
Tottenham need to drag themselves off the floor
Fulham have taken just one point on the road this season, but even they will fancy their chances of adding to Tottenham’s woes when they head to the north of the capital on Saturday night.
Spurs had been poor at their new stadium even before Thomas Frank took over as manager in the summer and there has been a lot of soul-searching for the club to do after they were abject in a 4-1 defeat in last week’s north London derby at Arsenal.
That loss was dismal and further defensive issues were highlighted on Wednesday by their 5-3 loss in the Champions League at holders Paris Saint-Germain.
They should be expected to be more progress than they were against the Gunners and in a recent 1-0 home defeat to second-placed Chelsea, when they posted expected-goals (xG) figures of just 0.1 in both matches.
Difficult trusting either team to get the job done
Spurs conceding 11 goals in their last three matches should give Fulham a boost even though a draw at Brighton on the opening weekend is all Marco Silva’s side have to show for their away efforts this term.
They have won on just one of their last 15 league visits to Tottenham and striker Raul Jimenez is capable of causing what has been a shaky Spurs defence plenty of problems.
The difficulty from a betting perspective is that it is difficult to trust either team in this contest, but there should be a few goals and over 2.5 appeals, with correct-score enthusiasts pointed towards a 2-2 draw at a hefty price.
Richarlison has had his confidence boosted
Anytime-goalscorer punters are pointed towards Tottenham’s Richarlison to boost his tally of five Premier League goals this season.
The Brazilian is a real confidence player and tends to need plenty of chances before he finds the net, but he has scored in his last three games against Manchester United, Arsenal – his north London derby effort was particularly impressive – and Paris Saint-Germain, so he can cause the Fulham defence plenty of problems.
